About

MCVT stands for Making Computing Visible and Tangible. It refers to our design stance that values the beauty and transparency of seeing the inner workings of technical and computational systems including electrical and mechanical components by hands-on making experiments. This research project is developing a kit of materials and parts to support inclusive computing education and study how our tools and culturally-relevant design activities influence youth practices, participation, and changes to technical competency beliefs. This project is supported by the NSF CS for All grant #2030880.
